Luffy!win 2

So, I read chapter 544 last night while waiting for scanlations - the chapter where Luffy has his rawr!encounter with Blackbeard.

And this, kind of, niggled at me.

It's not a real drabble, and will never be complete fic, but in honour of the massive Luffy!win &hearts of chapter 557 &hearts&hearts I thought I might as well share it.

Title: Luffy!Win: Rematch
Characters: Luffy, Blackbeard
Beta: naye

Summary: Some time after Ace gets rescued, Luffy runs into Blackbeard. They have an argument. It ends like this:

Rematch

“I don’t believe in your Fate. I didn’t rescue Ace because it was destiny – I saved him because I didn’t give up! None of us did.”

“So now what, Strawhat? Do we battle so you can avenge your brother’s disgrace?”

“No. Ace told me not to fight you.”

“Zehahaha! Running to big brother now? Where’s your pride Strawhat Luffy?”

“You’re going to stay away from me. You’re going to stay away from my brother. You’re going to stay away from my nakama. You’re going to stay away from my brother’s nakama.”

“And if I don’t?”

“Then we test your “fate” against my fists. And I won’t lose.”

For the lulz, naye thought about just who was included in Luffy's "don't touch or else".


naye: "Okay, how about Jinbei?"
"...don't touch any of my friends."
"Boa Hancock? Works for the government!"
"No."
me: "stay away from Alabasta, Drum, Kuja...
naye: East Blue.
ALL OF IT.
me: "I know people on Shabaondy"
naye: "And fishmen? MY FRIENDS. they feed me takoyaki~"
naye: "Oh, and no attacking cooks. On principle"
me: ..."you can attack the Tenryuubito though, I don't like them"
me: Water 7!!!
"Don't touch"
naye: "Marines?"
"...well."
me: "leave Coby and .... alone"
naye: "You can have goat-guy."
me: "you couldn't hurt Grandpa if you wanted to thought so..."
naye: GOAT GUY AND TENRYUUBITO. That's what's left.

It...it's been building towards that? Ace has dibs and has been hurt far more by Blackbeard than Luffy - all the Whitebeard pirates have.

But Luffy had that epic hate at first sight that was just, like, Luffy? What?

And there are...as;kfjah; - a thousand parallels that Oda has drawn between the two. Like naye once said that Blackbeard was Luffy without the good qualities that make Luffy Luffy!

Then again, it's Oda, so who knows!!

This is all kinds of awesome because it's so true to Luffy. Luffy might not understand danger, but he gets Ace has dibs. (Or just. Ace said so.) And he knows that if they fight? Blackbeard is GOING DOWN. Somehow. Because he is Luffy. *loves loves*
