Character: mysterious character is mysterious? (or not, just experimenting with not introducing the character right away and seeing how long it takes people to get it?)

Something Important
He owes his captain the truth.
He’s been a member of this crew for four months now; he can’t cower behind the excuse that he’s new anymore. Or tell himself that it doesn’t matter – self-deception doesn’t suit him.
He’s going to miss this. The ships, the crew, the sense of belonging. Of home.
But he’s not a coward, or a liar – even if no one actually asked him anything about himself when he joined. This is too important to hide.
He’s so scared.
And now he’s here, at his captain’s door, his heart is hammering like it wants to burst out of his chest so it can beat some sense into him. Stop stop stop, what are you DOING!?
He opens the door and finds himself face to face with his captain. His kind, strong, genial captain who won’t be smiling at him like that in a few minutes.
He’s going to be thrown off the ship. He’s going to be kicked off the crew. He doesn’t want to leave.
It takes him several seconds to find his voice.
“Oyaji I-” and he almost can’t do it, almost turns around and flees and claims temporary insanity, pretends he can’t remember what he wanted to say - anything. But no, he will not stoop so low, no matter what.
Whitebeard deserves to know exactly who this son he’s taken in is.
“Ace?”
“I have something important to tell you.”

So I really wanted to use my Ace!condemned icon because, appropriate, and also pretty. And it has Ace in it. But that would have given the gig away. And then I wanted to use my beautiful Rouge icon except. Again. Too much like a hint.
Hence the wonderful nakama&hearts icon - it's sort of appropriate. incidentally, all three icons were made with love by![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)

Also, because I am a curious, curious monkey - could people tell me in their comments when they realized it was Ace? No reason beyond my curiousy XP (even if your answer is: eiliem, you always write Ace!fic, of course it was Ace. *rolling of eyes*)
Family Reunion part III is coming - I just don't know when @_@ (it's four pages long and I don't know how it's going to end O_O) This will entertain people till then?
