Ah, it's too bad the switching languages was distracting. I haven't really found a translation for it that I liked - "pop", which some people have used, sounds too hick to me =_=; and while you might refer to someone as "your old man", calling someone "old man" to their face doesn't really connote "dad" in English...

As a compromise would it help at all if I added something like this in the author's notes:

"For people - like me - who do not speak Japanese, here is how the lovely [livejournal.com profile] shayera explained the term "oyaji" to me: "a very informal way of saying "dad", used by boys. Kinda like "my old man""

Or does that not help at all?
