But mostly [livejournal.com profile] naye because everything is always naye's fault &hearts

First [livejournal.com profile] feriowind drew fanart, then [livejournal.com profile] skuldchan started to squee (lots of squee, so, so much squee), and eventually even [livejournal.com profile] naye joined in. Nowhere on my flist was safe!

And being the flaily fangirl I am, I knew that if I watched something people left right and center were flailing over then I would love it too and therefore have to watch all of it at once o_o

So I resisted.

I was resigned to the inevitability of being sucked in eventually, but I thought: if I could only hold out until next week, I would have most of my crazy RL madness over with (as well as being in an entirely different city for the next three months hence the RL madness).

And then Naye told me there were only three episodes.

And then she linked me to torrents.

ORZ

And I watched all three (90 minute) episode in less than 24 hours. *headdesk*

And then I went and lurked on the kink meme. Oh fandom, never change XPPP

And it was very good. I don't think I will ever match the enthusiasm of these three crazy fanladies &hearts&hearts&hearts but the series is very made of win. I look forward to more. (in a year :S)

Not sure what to make of Moriarty. Reserving judgment until I see more of him, although my initial reaction is one of disappointment. He's not... scary. There was no sense of menace (for me) during his face to face with Sherlock.

There was danger, certainly - the bomb and the snipers. And it was clever and a little bit creepy that he was there in the lab near the beginning/middlish of the episode, that he gave Sherlock his number and yet was so utterly forgettable. Jim Moriarty is a ninja like that, which kind of makes up for his squeaky manicness. A little.

I did like this moment, for whatever reason XD

Jim: But now you're in my way.
Serlock: Thank you.
Jim: I didn't mean it as a compliment.
Sherlock: Yes you did.
Jim: Yeah, okay I did. *cue epic facial expression of win and hilarious*

And this

Sherlock: I will stop you.

Photobucket
Jim: No you won't.

Excellent deadpan. But enough of Moriarty.

This exchange was love

Photobucket
Serlock: You alright?

Photobucket
John: *nods*

And I am forever intrigued that it's at this point that Sherlock decides to attempt to exchange the memory stick for John. What would have happened if John had said no?

Sherlock: You alright?
John Not really, no.
Sherlock: *shoots Moriarty*

.....??? O_o

(Okay, he wouldn't have. Probably. >.>)

But really, the ending was just... *melts*

John: Sherlock run!

And the whole thing was worth watching, if only for this moment, after Moriarty leaves; after Sherlock was cool and calm and collected (mostly) throughout the whole exchange...

gif courtesy of [livejournal.com profile] sherlockiangirl over at [livejournal.com profile] sherlockbbc... which I know about because I am now going through Skuld's Sherlock posts... >.>

also, wow, slow gif is slow... ¬¬ go rewatch that part, you know you want to

...I don't know how many times I re-watched those same 20-or-so seconds, over and over and over again...

*melts and flails in a puddle of fannish goo*

That.

I don't know which buttons, precisely, that moments is pushing, but it is pushing them. Hard.

Other random reactions:

Mycroft is win. Very very win. Win and love. As is his assistant. &hearts&hearts&hearts why does Moriarty not have some of his affable ominousness!??!? Why?!

The brother dynamics are making me squeeful and flaily. (Someone needs to write Sherlock!fic with the phrase "badly-made little brother" in it. I need this!)

And I desperately, desperately want to meet Mummy. DESPERATELY!

Mrs Hudson is so sweet! I want to squish her and watch bad television with her.

And I know I'm not the only one who, in A Study in Pink, thought Sherlock was going after the cabbie when he started chasing the cab, and was therefore utterly bewildered as to why he started talking to the passenger.

Wat.

And finally, I knew this series was full of gay because Skuld squeed about it all over her journal but...

OMG THIS SERIES IS FULL OF GAY o_O

&hearts XD
