I doubt Squado damn you traitorous bastard!!! is being controlled in any way (flamingo, gecko or seagull)... there was that awful calm about when he walked up to Whitebeard and ran him through that practically screamed "I know fully the terrible consequences of my actions but I believe it must be done"...sorta like the atmosphere when Luffy punched the World Noble.. except Squado is wrong!!!
I don't know what "debt" he owes (probably support? the new world's supposed to be terrifyingly dangerous after all) but I doubt killing Shirohige is the way to clear it.

problem with Iva-chan healing Whitebeard is that the Healing Hormones cost 10 years (or is that only for fighting off poison?) and I'm not sure Whitebeard's got all that many years to spare but still!
